The Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) Committee of the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA), the Ministry of Health Malaysia, the Public Health Society-MMA, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), the Malaysian Council for Tobacco Control and the National Cancer Society Malaysia are organising the Towards a Smoke-Free Generation- Video Competition.
The objective of the competition is to help create a generation who do not smoke tobacco, smoke e-cigarette and vape. We encourage participants of the Towards a Smoke-Free Generation – Video Competition to submit as many Tik Tok video as they like. The video should encourage individuals who smoke to quit smoking and encourage the individual who use vape or e-cigarette to quit. The video should increase the awareness of the public on the hazards of the use of tobacco, vape and e-cigarette and promote a smoke-free generation.
The Towards a Smoke-Free Generation – Video Competition will run from 31 May 2021 – 30 April 2022 and it is open to all Malaysian. There will be three categories of prizes:
First prize – RM1000.00
Second prize – RM500.00
First prize – RM1000.00

(Please note that the closing date for the competition has been changed to 30 April 2022 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic)
Rules
The video should not be more than 30 seconds in length.
The video should be creative using trends on tik-tok
The theme of the video should be either on one or more of the themes as described below:
- Encouraging smokers/vapers to quit smoking/vaping
- Increasing public awareness of the hazards of tobacco use or the use of vape or e-cigarettes
- Promoting a smoke-free environment
Video must use the hashtag #norokok #novape. (Videos with no hashtag will not be considered for the purposes of the competition)
Videos should not be vulgar, obscene, indecent or profane (Videos with such features will automatically be disqualified)
The link to your TikTok video submission must be included in the entry form.
